Our itinerary

We only publish lists for places we've been ourselves, so we know what to recommend most from first-hand experience. Here's how we visited Yountville.

We recommend visiting Yountville from Thursday–Sunday so you have two full days (Friday and Saturday) to indulge and treat yourself.

Day 1

  • Drive in from San Francisco—roughly 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • Check-in at Bardessono Hotel & Spa. Unpack and settled in, then get glammed up for dinner.

  • Dinner at Lucy, the fine dining restaurant at the Bardessono Hotel. Book it when you book the hotel so you have something easy for dinner to start the weekend.

Day 2: Wine day

Book 2-3 wineries ahead of time for a full, but flexible day. Plan on ~90 mins per tasting, longer for larger groups.

  • Stags’ Leap
  • Stewart Cellars
  • Domain Chandon

Before dinner, head back to the hotel to unwind and freshen up.

Day 3: Spa & Pool day

Day 4

ProTip: Always ask for late checkout first thing in the morning. If they can’t accommodate, they’ll let you know, but you’ll be surprised how often they can.

  • Breakfast in bed. Order room service, you deserve it.

  • Morning pool session. Slow roll out of bed and head to the pool for even an hour before checkout.

  • Shower, change, and check-out. Have a safe drive home!
